4 reasons to have an engagement video shoot.

One of the things we love most about our profession as wedding videographers is the possibility of creating a close relationship with each of our couples. We are probably one of the vendors that couples spend the most time with and talk to, so building empathy is essential.

In addition to being hired on average one year before the event date, we always keep in touch with our couples throughout the months leading up to the wedding. On the wedding day, we are present from the preparation to the important last moments, and after the day, there are still a few months of conversation until the film is officially finished.

All these stages, which we love, allow us to create bonds and get to know the story and essence of each couple even more. Each story is unique, so it's important that we can capture it honestly, realistically, and naturally.

One of the moments that contributes the most to a close relationship is the pre-wedding session. But there are always some doubts about whether it's worth doing it in video.

We imagine that spending an hour being filmed can seem boring, but we guarantee that it's not like that at all. So now we have gathered four reasons why we always recommend having an engagement video shoot:

1.      We create even more beautiful footage to include in your wedding film

Creating a connection between the past, present, and future is the best way to immerse ourselves in our most beautiful, intense, and memorable memories. That's why we like to mix different time periods, settings, and emotions. We love the possibility of creating an avalanche of emotions that will have even more value as the years go by. The opportunity to film you in your purest state, before the wedding but with the closeness and simplicity that characterizes you, will allow your story to be even richer, more real, and unique.

2.      It allows you to feel more comfortable in front of the cameras on your wedding day

Think of the engagement video shoot as a rehearsal for the big day! Few people are accustomed and relaxed with cameras pointed at them, so it may feel awkward at first. However, if you choose to have an engagement video shoot, you will end up feeling more relaxed when the big day arrives.

3.      It helps to create a closer relationship with the videographer

As we mentioned above, we are one of the vendors who spend the most time with the couples. Therefore, it is crucial to have a relationship of trust and closeness. We will be filming one of the most important moments of your lives, and you will be experiencing one of the most significant days ever. It is essential that you feel relaxed and confident in our work. Having a session before the wedding helps a lot in making this happen. We only need 1 hour of your availability, and we promise it will be well spent between sunset walks in beautiful places, a mid-afternoon coffee, or a deeper conversation.

4.      You don't have to worry about posing

The more natural things happen, the better. It's hard to fake a pose in video, so we won't ask you to pretend emotions. Above all, we want you to look at the images in 10 years and still identify with them, to see yourselves and feel, "We are those people!"

You don't have to be a model, photogenic or telegenic! What's important is being ready for a few hours of fun, calmness, no pressure, good conversations and the result will be beautiful images and priceless memories.
